Who has a Great Sense of Humor?

I am on summer break and loving it. Getting up later, being with Bob and Izzy, and taking pictures. I was just looking at pictures I had taken of Pilgrim, and boy did that bring out the tears. I just miss that little sweet tart so much. I even miss his funny screeching/talking he did. I just miss him so much. It still hurts. I am so glad we have Izzy. She makes it a bit easier. We have just been lovin her like crazy the past two weeks.

Today we are suppose to have a bunch of baby chicks hatching. I am very excited to see them all cuddled up to their momma's. I just can't wait. If all goes well, there should be about 15-20 new chicks by tomorrow. :) Then we ordered more chicks to come in the mail. One breed we are getting is Cuckoo Marans. They lay a dark chocolate colored egg with speckles. It is fun to watch them grow and scratch the ground. I am so excited to see the new babies. Have I said that already?

This past weekend we went up to the ranch to see Bob's dad and step mom for Father's Day. Art is a hoot. He loves when I enter photo contests and really encourages me. Well 'his' latest "idea" was for me to take a picture of him up on the mountain sittin on an open outhouse reading a magazine. Soooooo we drove up to the area across from the ranch, and I took these pictures. We laughed and laughed. Remember it was all his idea. I will send the pictures to Fence Post Magazine tomorrow. He wants to see them in print and so do I. I love Art, and his sense of humor. He turns 70, June 23. He acts 40. I hope they get in the magazine.

I went to where I work today and visited the summer school kids. I got hugs and kisses from the kids, and got a few egg orders from teachers. The whole town was re-routed because there was an old lumber yard on fire. I guess it was an old building. I don't know any details... What a mess the traffic was. I met Bob in town and we got Japanese Food from MOMO's and went home. It was good stuff.

I have to get packing for my trip out east to humid/wet land. Brock told me he got new Transformer underwear and I should come see them. Oh boy. I am excited to just get there and see my family. With gas prices so high, I plan on not going a lot of places. I just want to enjoy my Brockstar.

Love and hugs, Gail...p.s. My friend Josh is out of IRAQ and home in NV. Yay, home safe and sound after serving our country. Welcome Home Josh!!!!!!!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Man, summer is going fast. So much to do. There are Farmer's Markets, outdoor concerts, and bar-b-ques. Today we took a loan out for gas (LOL) and we went to Colorado Springs to visit our financial guy. I can not believe how expensive gas is right now. Here, it is $3.99 a gallon. It really makes you think twice about going anywhere.

We picked up Bob's dad Art, and Bob will be taking him to a Doctors appt tomorrow in Denver. This man is everything a man should be. Sensitive, great with his hands, mechanical, loving, and can fix anything! I am blessed by having him in my life. He always wears western, long sleeve shirts so I always look at our Goodwill for the kind he likes. I'd do anything for him. So since my own daddy is in heaven now, I am blessed to have ART as my daddy. Happy Father's Day Art. I want to say HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the dads out there. God Bless each of you. love, Gail

LIFE, HERE AND NOW.

THE 'FRENCH' HENS

HERE IS SMOKEY WHEN HE WAS IN MY KENNEL. RIP BUD

Well I am still sad that Pilgrim is gone. But this is so weird. Two other of our friends lost their dogs this past week also. One of them was SMOKEY a retired racing greyhound, that I had in the kennel I took care of. I loved this dog like it was my own child. He was one of a kind. He would just walk next to me like we were best friends and look up at me as if to say, "I'm here, everything is fine Gail." He was black with a graying face. He was adopted out after his racing career was over. The family who gave him the best after racing life was Susan E. and her family in Kenosha. WI. They gave Smokey Dawg the best retirement any racer could ever have. We kept in touch over the years, and even we even visited them at their home. Oh I loved that dog. Anyway, he died the day after Pilgrim. So when I got the email from Susan, she said as Smokey was dying, she told him to take care of Pilgrim up there. Oh that made me cry. So now I picture Smokey and his long legs and little 17 lb Pilgrim, walking together in heaven, and Pilgrim looking up at Smokey, and Smokey saying, "Come on little guy, keep up with me." It's getting me through this very sad, sad time. Then our dear friend Bertha lost her little dog 'Tuffy' this past Weds. It's been rough but so many people sent mail, emails, and called me saying how sad it was.. I appreciate all the sympathy and caring. Thank you.

Bob and I have been keeping busy around the house. We have been selling eggs like wild. We just ordered new business cards with the actual picture of our eggs on it. I am so excited, and can't wait to get them this week. We also ordered address labels with the same picture on it. FUN! Oh the funny thing is we named our egg business.......'FRENCH HENS'. Gotta love it. We have hens with eggs under them right now waiting to hatch. We should be getting around 15 baby chicks very soon. :)

A very nice woman stopped by here the other day to buy eggs. Well she is a massage therapist in training so we will be seeing her again to practice on us. Can't wait. :) I am so tight in my back no one can believe it. Stress?

So that is about all for now. Feel free to comment, and check out my sister Barb's blog. Have a great week all and be safe, and God Bless You....Love, Gail xoxoxoxo
