Poor Pilgrim

Not so Smart Pilgrim

Izzy and Pilgrim
Bob and I were running errands yesterday. We keep Pilgrim and Izzy out in a big penned in area. Thinking they are safe. Well.....we got home and let the dogs in and Izzy bounces into the house all happy. I keep calling Pilgrim...He finally gets to the door and can hardly move. I'm thinking that he got cut by the fence. He hobbles in, and Bob and I look him over. He has a quarter size hole in his side all the way to his ribs, and under his right leg, there is another cut. He can hardly walk. Not a lot of blood. Bob washes the cuts and doctors them up. Pilgrim can not move. When he does he cries. .....Long story short, our neighbor comes over today, and lets us know Pilgrim got out of the penned in area, went to their house and had a confrontation with their large, wolf mix dog. Dumb Pilgrim. I truly hope Pilgrim learned NOT to leave his pen. Bob took Pilgrim to the Vet today and they gave him antibiotics, pain killers, and a green cream ointment. $80.00 later, Pilgrim is back in his bed, inside healing. He still doesn't want to move. Dumb dog. We told the neighbor it is totally Pilgrim's fault. I am just glad they came over and told us. I guess their dog, who is a killer, slammed Pilgrim to the ground. If the neighbor had not stopped them, Pilgrim would have died. We are lucky. We think Pilgrim has a concussion, because one of his eyes is dilated. So that is the excitment in the life of Gail and Bob today. yee hawwww.

MEMORIAL DAY IN THE MOUNTAINS

Shut up and kiss me.
How beautiful is this?

See the humming bird?
The ranch from across the street on a mountain.
Near Monarch Pass.

Bob and his awesome father.
US
Art on Buck. Giddy up
So pretty. Above..............and below, Bob on our new ATV......
I love holidays. We went up to see Bob's parents over Monarch Pass at the ranch they take care of. Bob and I bought a used but very fun ATV, and had a blast riding it everywhere. The mountains still had snow on them in a lot of places. I was trying to take a picture of a single humming bird searching for nectar. It was a great time. We drove the ATVs up the mountain across from the ranch. As you can see how big the ranch is. Then Bob's dad saddled up his horse Buck, and I took a picture of him. I LOVE Colorado. The mountains, the weather, the beauty, it is all so Godly to me. So enjoy the pictures and have a great summer! Love, Gail

GOOD TIMES...................

Pictures from a wonderful car show last weekend. I love car shows..

Hellooooo. Tomorrow is my last day of work for the summer. Yee haw. Off for a couple months. Love it.

Went to the Dr. yesterday, She said I have ARTHRALGIA. Don't ask me what it means. I have arthritis in my back and hands and knees. Getting older is so not fun. Plus, she says I still might need an x-ray to see if my back is screwed up from when I fell down the stairs back in Jan.

I want to say a public 'THANK YOU' to my husband Bob. He has been so great the last year. Working so hard at the different power plants across America. Paying off the travel trailer, paying off my car, Helping out his Dad in a big way, and getting new tires put on my car just yesterday. He has come very far in our time together. He has really grown in the Lord. That is the best part. God sure answers prayers!!! Bob has also been revamping the chicken coops. So he has been outside sawing, painting, and being careful. THANK YOU BOB FOR ALL THE COOL THINGS YOU DO FOR ME AND FOR US!

This last week at work has been fun. Tuesday, was the last day with the kids. SAD. I got a very unexpected gift from a family. A framed adorable picture of their boy, and a big gift card for Chili's. Wow. It was so cool. I will so miss the kids. Only two out of 17 are going to Kindergarten so I hope to see the rest during the summer, and next fall. If I am still there. Never know what the summer will bring.

Now, I have to plan for my trip to IL. :) I have missed Molly, Mike and Brockstar and all my family. Mike is recouping from injuring his back. He couldn't even walk. I hope I can help them is some ways. Poor Mike. So, as I end this blog, I shall go check out flights. Yippie...Love and good things.....And Happy and safe Memorial Day. Gail

I want, but do I deserve?

I love weekends !!!!!
My Sister Barb and I last summer..In the chicken pen.

I have a lot on my mind. I guess it is because I spend a lot of time here alone. Things I need to do. Things I want to do, and things I love to do.

Start. I would love to go to Maine again. Walk on the beaches and collect shells. Watch the sun come up and walk in the ocean. I love the coast. I love to just stand there and look as far as I can see. And wonder how God made so much beauty. I want to go to a real nice Hotel with big beds that have fluffy, clean, down filled comforters and room service. I want to order room service and not have to worry about the money. I want to eat lobster. I want to sit on that big comfy bed and read my emails on the lap top. Just like they do on the movies. I want my knees to be happy. Not hurtful. I do not like exercise. Can't you tell? I know it is good for me but I don't like it. I do like being in a pool and hot tub. I would love to weigh less . Like, ahhhh let's see.... myself, back in the summer of 1997. When I came back for my sweet sister's memorial service and everyone had to look twice to see if it was really me. I loved being like that. How did I lose that weight? That is when I goofed up my life and stupidly left Jeff. I lost weight and my mind all at the same time. How stupid was I ? Very.

I have asked Jesus to forgive me over and over and over. Even now, I do stupid things and ask for forgiveness. I am so glad He forgives me over and over. I pray I am worthy of God's Kingdom of Heaven when I die. I am more open now. I don't hide things from Bob. I want love and forgiveness. I love to be open. Let the past loose, and free yourself of shame, sin, and regret. That stuff will eat you alive. Okay back to stuff I want to do. I want to meet Daniela, my blog friend in North Carolina. She seems so fun to be around.

I love working with the kiddos, but right now I am making minimum wage. I work to teach and mold kids for the world and for the future. I want to do what God wants me to do. And right now, I want to just love kids. For God. I don't care if I don't make a lot of money. I work for God. I wish Bob would see that it's not about the money. If he loves me, he wouldn't care about how little I make. He would care that I am doing my job for God. Right?

Okay. I still want to buy a kiln. I want to fuse glass to make cool things like frames for pictures, sculptures, and necklaces. I want to use pretty colors of glass and 'create'. I would still love to have a bath tub. I love where we live right now but I miss soaking in a bath tub. I really do love where we live. Out in the country where I hear roosters crow every morning, (I just wish, they would crow once and then shut up). Where I look across the street and see Arabian horses running and grazing. I love the quiet. I love to watch Izzy chase the cats, and herd the chickens. I like watching the chickens scratch the ground and eat the extra scrapes I give them. Apples, grass, noodles, tortillas, what ever. I have sure learned a lot about chickens in the past year. I still sell a lot of eggs. And now I have put my flyer all over. Restaurants, feed stores, work, Hot dog stands, friends, and I even put a Fresh Eggs $2.25 a dozen on my mailbox out front. I'm a Chicken Wrangler.

I just got off the phone with my sister Barb. We talked for 41 minutes. We laughed a lot and mostly she talked and I listened. I love when she calls. It makes me feel closer to my home town Chicago. Nice place to visit. I love you Barb!!!! Thanks for calling. :0)

So back to my want list. I want to take pictures that blow people's socks off. I had a picture published in a local calendar. That was fun. But I want to have my photographs published on greeting cards and cool stuff like that. That is one of my goals. I just want to do fun stuff that makes God happy while I am here on Earth. I try not to worry about little stupid stuff, like boogie men, and how fat I am. Life is Life and God knows when we will be sent home . The exact minute. I wanna live for Him til the end of my life. I was talking to a couple of guy friends today at an auction and we are all in our 50's. The one guy said, We have (hopefully) a good 20 years left. Hopefully. Lets live it the best we can. NOW. Yep! I agree. The he said,"Think how fast the last 20 years have gone for us." We have to cherish every breath. So who ever is reading this, know I am happy and pretty darn content, and if I die tomorrow, It's ok. I wanna go home to see Jesus.......

Peace out yo...................love, Gail

Facts for You......

The human body is a machine that is full of wonder. This collection of human body facts will leave you wondering why in the heck we were designed the way we were.
1.. Scientists say the higher your I.Q. The more you dream.
2.. The largest cell in the human body is the female egg.
3.. The smallest is the male sperm.
4.. You use 200 muscles to take one step.
5.. The average woman is 5 inches shorter than the average man.
6.. Your big toes have two bones each while the rest have three.
7.. A pair of human feet contain 250,000 sweat glands.
(Bob's have more)
8.. A full bladder is roughly the size of a soft ball.
9.. The acid in your stomach is strong enough to dissolve razor blades.
10.. The human brain cell can hold 5 times as much information as the Encyclopedia Britannica.
11.. It takes the food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach.
12.. The average human dream lasts 2-3 seconds.
13.. Men without hair on their chests are more likely to get cirrhosis of the liver than men with hair.
14.. At the moment of conception, you spent about half an hour as a single cell.
15.. There is about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.
16.. Your body gives off enough heat in 30 minutes to bring half a gallon of water to a boil.
17.. The enamel in your teeth is the hardest substance in your body.
18.. Your teeth start developing (in your gums) 6 months before you are born.
19.. When you are looking at someone you love, your pupils dilate, they do the same when you are looking at someone you hate.
20.. Blondes have more hair than dark-haired people.
21.. Your thumb is the same length as your nose.
22.. At this very moment I know full well you are putting this last fact to the test ... now remove your thumb from your nose and pass this on to the friends you think might be interested in comparing their thumbs to their noses as well. You did it -- I KNOW you did !!!!!

SANDALS, SUN BLOCK AND SNOW?

Here is a new picture of Baby Benny, next to Chewy.
Well, I am feeling better. Life in Colorado is so funny. Tuesday was like 70 degrees and everyone at work was in shorts and sunglasses. We are having a week of Safety stuff. Police, Firemen, Animal handling, fingerprinting of kids, Bikers Against Child Abuse--B.A.C.A. (that's the people I am helping), also there is bike safety, gun safety, bus safety, and 'Stranger Danger' it is lots of fun. Anyway back to the weather......Right now it is SNOWING! A Winter Storm Warning. Can you believe it? Cold, yucky, wet, and slippery. So the kids tomorrow will be bundled up going from room to room. We have wild fires going on about 20 miles from us. Scary!!!! It has burned over 9000 acres so far.

:( It is on the way, we get to Colorado Springs. A pilot crashed while fighting the flames. Sad. Then there is another wild fire in Ordway, CO. Two firefighters were killed in that fire. Many houses were burnt up. I just hope it wasn't from some thoughtless smoker throwing out a 'cancer stick' out the window. They don't know yet. Now hopefully the snow will stop the fires. Or at least slow it down, so they can put it out.

I want to say I send my prayers to Virginia Tech being the anniversary of the tragedy today. :(

Also, my friend went to get an ultrasound, the baby looks fine and the brain cysts are GONE! Thank You Lord Jesus! And thank you all who prayed. God is so Awesome!!!!!

Sunday

Happy Sunday. I stayed home all day and slept. I felt so gross most of the day. I didn't get to go to church and I feel bad. I can download the sermon, so that's good. I really miss Bob on days I feel yucky. He did get to go to a church in Texas.

I collected 29 eggs Saturday and 25 today. I put up flyers and told my christian woman's java tour that we have fresh eggs for sale. I sold a dozen yesterday. :) Okay...Off to bed to get better......Love, Gail
